SN Aboitiz Power-Benguet (SNAP-Benguet) celebrated its 17th anniversary on July 10, 2025, at the Binga Hydroelectric Power Plant with the theme โ€œCharting New Horizons.โ€ The milestone gathered local leaders, partners, and employees to reflect on the companyโ€™s journey and its role in shaping a sustainable energy future.

From its roots as a leading hydropower operator, SNAP-Benguet is expanding into new energy technologies like battery energy storage systems (BESS), a move that highlights its commitment to innovation and energy transition.

โ€œWe are proud of what weโ€™ve achieved and even more excited about where weโ€™re going,โ€ said SNAP President and CEO Joseph Yu. โ€œBattery energy storage is our way of contributing to a cleaner, more resilient energy future.โ€

Vice Mayor Alain Xavier โ€œDaxโ€ Godio expressed full support for SNAP-Benguetโ€™s efforts, reaffirming the importance of strong partnerships between the private sector, government, and communities in achieving energy security and sustainability.

In the days leading up to the anniversary, SNAP-Benguet organized a blood donation drive, a mental health awareness session, and a clean-up activity. On July 9, the company signed a memorandum of agreement with Barangay Tinongdan for new CSR projects focused on the environment, health, education, and livelihood.

Yu concluded, โ€œWith our hydropower legacy and push toward emerging technologies, we remain committed to empowering communities and supporting the countryโ€™s energy goals.โ€
