Pampanga First District Representative Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. has launched his Mobile Soup Kitchen Program in partnership with the Red Pillars Foundation, bringing hot meals directly to flood-affected families and undernourished children.
The initiative kicked off on July 24, 2025, with Cong Pogi personally delivering sopas to evacuees in Barangay Tabun, Mabalacat City, via the Red Pillars mobile kitchen truck.

This marks the first phase of Lazatin’s comprehensive nutrition program for the First District, which will run for three months and focus on supporting undernourished children. Under the collaboration, no government funds are transferred to Red Pillars. Instead, Lazatin’s office provides labor and logistical support, while the foundation manages program implementation.
Lazatin is no stranger to nutrition advocacy. As former Angeles City Mayor, he introduced the “Pusong Mamon” Malunggay bun in 2022, reducing malnourished children in the city by 63% within a year. This July, he also rolled out the Malunggay Ice Cream Project**, personally funded and distributed to daycare students across the First District.
Looking ahead, Lazatin is pushing for expanded coverage of the Primary Care Package under the Universal Health Care Act (RA 11224)—including check-ups, lab tests, and mental health services—to reduce out-of-pocket costs for patients.
The Red Pillars Foundation is a registered and city-recognized People’s Organization actively supporting community health initiatives.
