In a bid to protect and promote its unique cultural legacy, the Municipality of Santa Rita, led by Mayor Reynan Calo, has issued Executive Order No. 005, Series of 2025, officially recognizing “pamagduman” — the traditional Kapampangan practice of cultivating duman — as part of the town’s intangible cultural heritage.
The order not only highlights its agricultural and cultural value, but also supports its nomination to the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage list.

A Technical Working Group (TWG) has been formed to lead programs, research, and policy development in strengthening the pamagduman industry for future generations.

This move underscores the LGU’s commitment to cultural preservation as a pathway to community pride and sustainable development.
