Mayor Geld Aquino convened the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO), department heads, and DILG City Operations Officer Diane Lorin Tolentino to discuss preparedness measures ahead of the expected arrival of Typhoon Uwan.
According to PAGASA, the weather disturbance—currently named Fung-wong — is expected to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) by Friday midnight or early Saturday, after which it will be locally named Uwan. Its effects are anticipated to be felt in Pampanga early next week.

During the meeting, officials tackled key response plans, including flood prevention, pre-emptive evacuation, and close monitoring of critical areas. Mayor Aquino also ordered the readiness of emergency vehicles and equipment to ensure quick response during emergencies.

Departments were likewise directed to prepare evacuation centers and strengthen coordination with barangays for faster dissemination of information and response efforts.
Mayor Aquino urged residents to stay alert, follow official advisories, and monitor updates from authorities to ensure their safety as the typhoon approaches.
