Mekeni Food Corporation reaffirmed its longstanding commitment to community care as it conducted its annual gift-giving program on October 24, 2025, extending support to vulnerable groups across Pampanga.
Anchored on the company’s core value of ‘malasakit’, the activity brought Mekeni volunteers to three partner institutions: Munting Tahanan ng Nazareth in Mabalacat City, and Bahay Pag-ibig and Children’s Home of Eucharistic Love and Kindness in the City of San Fernando.

Employees turned over essential items—including food products and toiletries—to children, senior citizens, and persons with disabilities, continuing a corporate tradition that spans decades.
“This program reminds us that compassion becomes most meaningful when it becomes part of who we are,” said Mekeni President Prudencio S. Garcia. “Every year, our people come together not only to give, but to connect and show that the community can always count on us.”
The annual outreach is sustained through collective employee contributions in cash and in-kind, reflecting the culture of volunteerism within the company.
“Our employees have always been at the heart of this program,” said Marilou Uy, Assistant Vice President for HR and Exports. “Their generosity and willingness to serve truly embody Mekeni’s spirit of unity.”
HR Head Apple Garcia added that the program continues to make a tangible impact. “What we do may be simple, but the smiles we see and the hope we share make a world of difference,” she said.
For more than 30 years, Mekeni has carried out various community initiatives aimed at uplifting lives and fostering compassion—values the company says remain central to its mission.
