The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) has conferred the Bankau Award on the Municipality of Sasmuan under the leadership of Mayor Catalina “Lina” Cabrera during the 2025 Gawad Sulayman.
The award recognizes Sasmuan as the third local government unit in the country to complete its 2024 Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) Incentive Fund project—an additional school building at Sasmuan Elementary School.
Mayor Cabrera also received a Certificate of Recognition from the DILG for the municipality’s effective implementation of local development projects, underscoring her administration’s commitment to transparent, efficient, and community-centered governance.
Mayor Cabrera expressed gratitude for the national recognition, saying the awards are a testament to the collective efforts of the local government and the people of Sasmuan. “Para ito sa lahat ng mga Sasmuaneño,” she said.
