Insular Life (InLife), the country’s first and largest Filipino life insurer, underscored the need to build a financially secure Filipino workforce as it served as principal sponsor and key participant at the 2025 People Management Association of the Philippines (PMAP) Annual Conference held at Nustar Resort and Casino in Cebu City.
Through its flagship corporate program InLife@Work, the company led discussions on retirement preparedness and financial wellness in a featured session titled “Unleashing Financial Freedom: A Roadmap to a Secure Filipino Workforce.” The session also presented findings from the 2024 Retirement Study, the largest retirement-focused research conducted in the country.
The study showed that less than 30% of Filipinos feel confident about their retirement preparedness, while only half are actively taking steps to secure their future—highlighting how financial anxiety has become a growing workforce performance issue.
“Presenteeism, turnover, and disengagement are often rooted in financial stress,” said InLife Chief Risk Officer and Head of InLife@Work Efren Caringal Jr., who led the interactive session. “We launched InLife@Work to help companies embed financial care into their employee value proposition. We equip companies with the tools, data, and support they need to empower their people with confidence, clarity, and real financial solutions.”
InLife@Work also featured its new FinWell Ladder—a self-assessment and coaching framework—along with gamified engagement tools that encouraged conversations about retirement planning.

The 62nd PMAP Annual Conference gathered over a thousand HR practitioners, people managers, and business leaders for three days of learning and collaboration. During the event, PMAP Trustee Jerry Bonifacio emphasized that financial wellness is now a strategic priority for organizations: “A workforce that is financially secure is more focused, more loyal, and more empowered to perform at their best.”
