Cebu Pacific marks 250 Millionth passenger with a heartwarming film on family and homecoming

Cebu Pacific (PSE: CEB), the Philippines’ leading carrier, commemorates the anniversary of a significant milestone with the release of a brand film centered on the story of its 250 millionth passenger—Singapore-based overseas Filipino worker Russel Capaniarihan.

Now streaming on CEB’s Facebook and YouTube channels, the film comes one year after Capaniarihan flew home via Flight 5J 814 from Singapore to Manila. Originally from Bacolod, she returned after 11 years abroad to finally spend the holidays with her loved ones—a homecoming she had dreamed of for over a decade.

To mark the achievement of flying 250 million passengers, Cebu Pacific awarded Capaniarihan PHP 250,000 in cash and 25 free round-trip flights to any destination in its extensive network across the Philippines, Asia, Australia, and the Middle East.

Instead of using the flights solely for herself, Capaniarihan chose to share the experience with her family, taking them on their first-ever vacation together to Puerto Princesa—a place she once only imagined visiting. For several family members, it was not only their first trip to Palawan but also their first time boarding an airplane, adding even deeper meaning to the milestone.

“Our story as an airline is built on the journeys of the people we fly,” said Candice Iyog, CEB Chief Marketing and Customer Experience Officer. “Russel’s experience reflects what matters most to our travelers—coming home, reconnecting, and making plans they’ve waited years to fulfill. For 250 million moments and counting, we’ll keep flying you home.”
