Angeles City reviews GAD Performance, pushes Gender-Responsive Governance

The Angeles City Government, led by Mayor Carmelo “Jon” B. Lazatin II, held an executive coordination meeting on January 15, 2026, to assess the city’s Gender and Development (GAD) performance for calendar years 2022 to 2024, in line with a Joint Memorandum Circular of the DBM, PCW, DILG, and NEDA.

Held at the City Planning and Development Office Conference Room, the meeting reviewed compliance with national GAD policies, including the mandatory allocation of five percent of the city’s total budget for GAD programs, projects, and activities. Discussions centered on the assessment of indicators under the Gender Equality Results and Learning (GERL) Tool and the GAD Focal Point System Functionality Assessment Tool (GFAST), as well as the preparation of the 2025 GAD Accomplishment Report.

The activity, spearheaded by the DILG in coordination with the city’s GAD Office and the City Planning and Development Office, highlighted the importance of results-based planning, inter-office collaboration, and evidence-based reporting in strengthening gender mainstreaming across city programs and services.

City officials reaffirmed the local government’s commitment to inclusive, equitable, and gender-responsive governance through aligned policies, accountable planning, and effective use of GAD resources.
