CDC Chair ‘EdPam’: “Once a Jaycee, Always a Jaycee”

At 77, Atty. Edgardo Pamintuan reaffirmed his lifelong commitment to civic leadership, declaring, “Once a Jaycee, always a Jaycee,” as Clark prepares to host the Junior Chamber International (JCI) World Congress in 2026.

Pamintuan, chairperson of the Clark Development Corporation (CDC), assured delegates that the Clark Freeport Zone offers one of the most secure and well-prepared venues in the region for the global gathering.

He traced his roots with JCI to age 35, when he was recruited into JCI Angeles City Culiat. He credited the organization’s leadership training for shaping his 35 years in government service, underscoring the enduring fellowship and sense of service that continue to define his career.

Pamintuan welcomed delegations from Japan, Taiwan, India, and Kinabalu, noting that Japan alone reports over 30,000 members across 7,000 chapters, compared to the Philippines’ 224 chapters. He encouraged local chapters to expand their membership to match the scale and influence of their global counterparts.

The CDC chairperson also reconnected with longtime Jaycees, reflecting on shared milestones that helped shape Angeles City’s identity. Among these was Tigtigan Terakan King Dalan, a street festival launched in the aftermath of the Mt. Pinatubo eruption, as well as disaster response initiatives that gained international recognition. He said these efforts demonstrated how communities, government, and business can work together to create lasting impact.

As Clark gears up for the 2026 JCI World Congress, Pamintuan urged members to strengthen their ranks and sustain leadership.

He encouraged delegates to bring more members to the congress, surpassing the Philippine turnout in Tunisia, and assured them that Clark stands ready to provide a secure and successful venue for the international event.
