Designer Frederick Policarpio thanks Angeles City for honoring local artists

Renowned Angeleño fashion designer Frederick Policarpio expressed heartfelt gratitude to Carmelo ‘Jon’ Lazatin II and the Angeles City Tourism Office for recognizing the contributions of local creatives through the revived Púpul ning Banua Awards.

Policarpio, celebrated for his refined bridal gowns, bespoke creations, and tailored menswear, has earned recognition both locally and abroad for his meticulous craftsmanship and elegant design sensibility. A graduate of Central Saint Martins and the London College of Fashion, he returned to Angeles City after his studies to share the techniques and discipline he learned in the global fashion capital, helping elevate the local fashion scene while inspiring aspiring designers.

The recognition affirms Policarpio’s dedication to artistry and his continuing contribution to the cultural life of Angeles City. Through the Púpul ning Banua Awards, the city honors individuals whose work reflects the talent, heritage, and pride of the Angeleño community.

Under the leadership of Mayor Lazatin, the city government has been strengthening its support for arts and culture, recognizing the vital role creative professionals play in shaping Angeles City’s identity and cultural vibrancy.

With this honor, Policarpio joins a distinguished circle of Angeleños celebrated for their contributions to the arts — individuals whose work continues to inspire both residents and visitors to appreciate the city’s creativity and talent.

More than a recognition of excellence, the Púpul ning Banua Awards also reinforces Angeles City’s growing cultural tourism movement, inviting everyone to experience the artistry and spirit that define the city.
