Pampanga signs Joint Declaration reaffirming stable peace and security status

The provincial government of Pampanga formally signed a joint declaration reaffirming its State of Stable Internal Peace and Security (SSIPS), underscoring the province’s commitment to maintaining peace and order amid current economic and security challenges.

The declaration was led by Governor Lilia ‘Nanay’Pineda, who expressed gratitude for the approval of the Pampanga Peace Alliance Framework and the support of various government agencies in sustaining a safe and resilient community for Kapampangans.

The provincial government is working closely with the Philippine National Police, Armed Forces of the Philippines, and the Department of the Interior and Local Government to strengthen coordination and protect communities from potential threats.

During the meeting, Pineda, who also chairs the Pampanga Peace and Order Council and the Pampanga Anti-Drug Abuse Council, said current challenges extend beyond security concerns, citing the impact of rising fuel prices, employment issues, and increasing food costs on communities.

She noted that economic pressures can weaken communities and heighten vulnerabilities to social problems, stressing the need for proactive strategies to address poverty and maintain stability.

The signed resolution highlights transparency and accountability, stronger inter-agency cooperation, and the active participation of local government units, peace and order councils, and civil society organizations to sustain peace and promote inclusive development across the province.

Also present during the meeting were Vice Governor Dennis Pineda, 2nd District Board Member and Peace and Order Committee Chair Claire Lim, Board Members Cherry Manalo and Christian Halili, as well as representatives from law enforcement and national government agencies including the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group, Bureau of Fire Protection, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, and National Intelligence Coordinating Agency.

Local chief executives and officials from several Pampanga municipalities also joined the quarterly meeting, including mayors and vice mayors from Magalang, Lubao, Sta. Rita, Porac, Arayat, Mexico, Sto. Tomas, San Simon, Apalit, and Candaba.
