Converge ICT Solutions Inc. completes national digital infrastructure

Boosts PH global digital role

Fiber broadband and technology provider Converge ICT Solutions Inc. has completed its National Digital Infrastructure, a fully integrated and future-ready system designed to support advanced technologies and strengthen the Philippines’ position in the global digital economy.

The milestone was announced on Friday during the inauguration of the Converge Angeles Data Center, an AI-ready and scalable facility built to meet the growing demand for content and cloud services. The facility will also host the Converge Cloud, a sovereign cloud platform aimed at ensuring secure and locally managed data storage.

Comverge co-founder and CEO Dennis Anthony Uy said the development reflects the firm’s commitment to building world-class infrastructure capable of supporting emerging technologies and driving the country’s digital transformation.

The launch was attended by key government officials, including First Lady Liza Araneta Marcos, Department of Information and Communications Technology Secretary Henry Aguda, Pampanga Governor Lilia Pineda, Vice Governor Dennis Pineda, and Angeles City Mayor Carmelo Lazatin II.

The company’s National Digital Infrastructure integrates a wide range of assets, including its nationwide fiber backbone spanning nearly 900,000 kilometers, a developing low earth orbit satellite network, international subsea cable systems, cable landing stations, and multiple data centers.

Among its key components are the Bifrost Cable System and the Southeast Asia-Hainan-Hong Kong Express (SEA-H2X), which are expected to significantly expand bandwidth capacity and improve connectivity to global markets. These are supported by landing stations in Davao and La Union, enabling direct access for international technology firms and digital service providers.

Converge also expanded its data center network with the addition of facilities in Caloocan and Angeles, complementing its existing sites in Clark and Pasig. The newly launched Angeles Data Center is equipped with built-in redundancy, a scalable 12-megawatt capacity, and capabilities to support high-performance computing workloads, including artificial intelligence and machine learning.

The facility is also being prepared to run on renewable energy, in line with the company’s sustainability initiatives.

Central to the infrastructure is the Converge Cloud, a sovereign cloud platform designed to support government agencies and enterprises requiring secure, in-country data storage. The platform aligns with the government’s “Cloud First” policy and offers an alternative to costly on-premise systems.

With its expanded capabilities, Converge aims to scale its services across residential, enterprise, and public sector clients, while positioning the Philippines as a key hub in the global digital ecosystem.
