First ‘Takbo Para sa Kababaihan’ unites Angeleños for Women and a Cause

In celebration of National Women’s Month, Angeles City successfully held its first-ever “Takbo Para sa Kababaihan 2026” on March 21 at the Hue Grounds in Barangay Cuayan, bringing together Angeleños in a meaningful run for a cause.

The event, featuring 3K, 5K, and 10K categories, was organized by the city’s four lady councilors—Councilors JC Parker-Aguas, Maricel “Marang” Morales, Doc Mich Bonifacio, and Atty. Jeselle Dayrit—with the full support of Mayor Carmelo Lazatin II.

More than a fitness activity, the run carried a deeper purpose, with proceeds benefiting four-year-old Prince Paolo Calaguas, who is battling Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, as well as the Home for Girls in Angeles City.

Hundreds of participants joined the event, turning it into a celebration of strength, resilience, and unity. The initiative also highlighted the growing role of women leaders in championing programs that empower communities while extending help to those in need.

Supported by partners and sponsors, the activity stood as a strong example of collaboration for a meaningful cause—reinforcing Angeles City’s commitment to wellness, compassion, and social responsibility.

Organizers said the event embodied the true spirit of Women’s Month, with every step taken symbolizing hope, care, and collective action for a better community.
