Aid for Angeles City fire victims

Fire guts an area along Jake Gonzales Blvd., Malabanias

Mayor Carmelo ‘Pogi’ Lazatin Jr. on February 21, 2022 ordered the release of assistance to victims of a fire that razed an area along Jake Gonzales Boulevard, Barangay Malabanias, Angeles City on February 20.

Lazatin instructed City Social Welfare and Development Officer Joy Duaso to distribute food assistance, hygiene kits, banigs and blankets to the seven families affected by the fire, which broke out on Sunday, February 20, at around 10:30 p.m.

Mayor Lazatin, who went to the site during the fire, called the Angeles City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, headed by Rudy Simeon, to examine the health condition of the fire victims.

According to Simeon, there were no casualties reported, and the estimated cost of damages is P300,000.00. The cause of the fire, which was declared officially out at 11:39 p.m., is still under investigation.

Meanwhile, Mayor Lazatin also coordinated with Business Permit and Licensing Division Chief Evangeline Malonzo to assist the affected businesses in claiming benefits from their fire insurance provider.
