Telecommunications firm Globe Telecom is ramping up its network preparedness to minimize service interruptions as power outages and energy security issues continue to affect communities nationwide.
The company said reliable connectivity remains critical for Filipinos, especially during prolonged outages when communication is essential for households, businesses, financial access, and emergency response.
To address this, Globe has strengthened its operational readiness through expanded battery backups, mobile generator deployment, and improved contingency protocols across key sites. These measures are designed to sustain network operations longer and enable faster restoration in affected areas, particularly in high-risk provinces in the Visayas and Mindanao.
“Our priority is to keep our network available when people need it most,” said Cris Crisostomo, noting that enhanced preparedness allows for quicker response and reduced downtime.
Field engineers remain at the forefront of these efforts, monitoring infrastructure, securing facilities, and carrying out restoration work even under challenging conditions. Globe teams are also prepositioned in vulnerable areas to ensure immediate response when disruptions occur.
The company is further strengthening coordination with key agencies, including the Department of Energy, National Power Corporation, and the Department of Information and Communications Technology, to ensure timely resource support during outages.
Globe said these efforts aim to deliver more reliable connectivity, faster recovery times, and fewer service disruptions—especially during crises when communication is most vital.
