Pampanga First District Congressman Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. on May 6 led the distribution of five kilos of rice each to 503 members of the Brotherhood of Tricycle Drivers Association (BOTDA) as part of his continuing support for the transport sector.

The rice distribution forms part of a wider initiative that aims to provide assistance to 17,074 members of Tricycle Operators and Drivers Associations (TODA) and 2,555 members of Jeepney Operators and Drivers Associations (JODA) across Angeles City, Mabalacat City, and the municipality of Magalang.

Lazatin said the transport sector plays a vital role in the continued growth of local communities by serving workers, commuters, and residents daily.

The lawmaker noted that the distribution of rice to tricycle and jeepney drivers has been a long-standing tradition since his term as mayor of Angeles City.
