SBMA Chair Eisma resigns

Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) Chairman and Administrator Wilma Eisma announced her resignation from her post today, March 1, 2022.

Eisma cited health and family as reason for her decision to step down.

“And so, I now leave the Subic Bay Freeport with a happy heart, knowing that, together, we have set realistic goals, and achieved them to give Subic Bay a better, more sustainable future. And without a doubt, we have made our mark well,” she added.

Here is Atty. Eisma’s Statement:

STATEMENT ON RESIGNATION AS SBMA CHAIRMAN AND ADMINISTRATOR
To All Stakeholders of the Subic Bay Freeport Zone:
I’d like to inform everyone that I am stepping down as Chairman and Administrator of
the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority effective today, March 1, 2022.
Unbeknown to most of you, I have given my notice of resignation as SBMA chief as
early as October 2021 to President Duterte to focus on my health and family. At that
time, President Duterte did not acquiesce to my decision, but at this time, thankfully,
he favored my renewed request.
And so, I now leave the Subic Bay Freeport with a happy heart, knowing that, together,
we have set realistic goals, and achieved them to give Subic Bay a better, more
sustainable future. And without a doubt, we have made our mark well.
Thank you then for your support and pride in what we have done in the five years that
we worked together. It will always be my honor not only to be the first woman
appointed to this job, but also to be one leader who proved that together, the
stakeholders of Subic Bay will always be stronger, and will always overcome.
Maraming salamat po sa inyong lahat!
Very truly yours,
WILMA T. EISMA
Chairman and Administrator
