The Bureau of Customs (BOC) has reaffirmed its full support for the newly inaugurated US$80-million United Parcel Service (UPS) Clark International Air Hub, a major investment expected to boost trade connectivity, cargo efficiency, and economic growth.
Inaugurated by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., the facility significantly expands UPS operations at Clark International Airport, with 170 weekly flight segments and the capacity to process up to 15,000 packages per hour.
The hub is expected to handle approximately 46,000 packages and cargo shipments daily, more than nine times the volume of its previous facility.
President Marcos highlighted the hub’s dedicated immigration and customs lanes, which will accelerate cargo clearance, improve delivery efficiency, and strengthen Clark’s position as an international logistics gateway.
BOC Clark District Collector Reyes assured continued support for the logistics industry, in line with the directives of Customs Commissioner Ariel F. Nepomuceno.
“Under the leadership of Commissioner Ariel F. Nepomuceno, our direction is clear—to make customs processes faster, more efficient, and more responsive to the needs of the industry,” Reyes said.
Reyes added that investments such as the UPS expansion would generate business opportunities, create jobs, and contribute to economic growth.
The BOC also committed to strengthening partnerships with UPS and other air express cargo operators through efficient customs clearance and trade facilitation, supporting Clark’s development as a premier logistics hub in the Asia-Pacific region.
