Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Vince Dizon led the inspection of major infrastructure and flood control projects in Arayat alongside Pampanga Vice Governor Dennis Pineda, reinforcing coordination between national and local government units to accelerate public works and disaster mitigation efforts.

Among the projects inspected was the ongoing bridge construction in Barangay San Agustin, which is targeted for completion within the next five months.
Joining the inspection were Board Member Kaye Naguit, DPWH Central Luzon Regional Director Arnold Ocampo, Pampanga 1st District Engineer Alfie Lejarde, PGENRO head Arthur Punsalan, Pampanga PPO Director Eugene Marcelo, and Arayat Vice Mayor Ramon Changcoco.

Dizon expressed gratitude to the local government for helping resolve right-of-way concerns that had delayed the bridge project for more than eight years.
Pineda, meanwhile, emphasized the importance of cooperation among barangay officials, the municipal government, the Provincial Capitol, and the DPWH to prevent further damage caused by soil erosion and flooding.
Officials also inspected the collapsed dike in Barangay Candating, where authorities are pushing for a nature-based solution to protect nearby homes and prevent floodwaters from entering residential areas.
In Barangay Cupang, DPWH was directed to expedite sheet piling works under an ongoing flood control project to help minimize the risk of severe flooding and infrastructure damage in the community.
Government agencies from the barangay to the national level continue to strengthen coordination efforts to improve infrastructure resilience, protect residents, and ensure the safety and welfare of Kapampangans.
