Two police officers from Philippine National Police in San Marcelino went beyond the call of duty after helping a pregnant woman safely deliver her baby while being rushed to the hospital on the evening of May 19, 2026.
At around 8:40 p.m., Patrolman Nyl Art Dela Peña and Patrolman Johnsen Macabitas were conducting patrol operations when a concerned citizen approached them seeking immediate assistance for a woman about to give birth.


Without hesitation, the two officers quickly responded and transported the pregnant woman to the nearest hospital. However, before reaching the medical facility, the woman went into labor inside the vehicle and successfully gave birth to a healthy baby boy with the assistance of the responding policemen.
Both mother and child are now in stable condition and continue to receive proper care at the hospital.
The incident highlighted the courage, compassion, and swift action of the San Marcelino police officers, whose dedication to public service helped save lives during a critical moment.
