Pampanga First District Representative Carmelo ‘Pogi’ Lazatin Jr. immediately went to the site of the collapsed nine-storey building in Barangay Balibago, Angeles City on Sunday morning, May 24, to join ongoing search and rescue operations.

In support of the response efforts led by the Angeles City local government, Cong Pogi requested additional assistance from national agencies, including manpower and equipment from the Department of Public Works and Highways and K9 units from the Department of Transportation to aid rescuers in locating possible trapped victims.

He also said assistance is being prepared for affected victims and their families.

“Sa panahon ng ganitong sakuna ay kailangan magtulong-tulong tayong lahat,” Lazatin said.

Also present at the area is Angeles City Mayor Carmelo ‘Jon’ Lazatin II, who continues to oversee the city government’s coordinated rescue operations.
