Holy Rosary Parish Church is set to mark a historic milestone as it will be formally proclaimed a Minor Basilica on June 10, 2026, in recognition of its enduring spiritual legacy, Marian devotion, and deep communion with the Universal Church.
The solemn celebration will take place at 9 a.m. and will be presided over His Excellency The Most Rev. Florentino G. Lavarias, D.D., Archbishop of San Fernando, in the presence of His Eminence Pablo Virgilio S. Cardinal David, Bishop of Kalookan (Homilist), His Excellency The Most Rev. Charles J. Brown, Apostolic Nuncio to the Philippines, and His Eminence Jose F. Cardinal Advincula, Jr., Archbishop of Manila.
Church officials described the elevation as more than a conferment of title, emphasizing that it reflects the parish’s rich spiritual heritage and its important role in nurturing the faith of generations of Catholics.
Dedicated to Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary – La Naval de Angeles, the parish has long been regarded as one of the most significant centers of Marian devotion in Pampanga.
The proclamation of the church as a Minor Basilica is expected to become a defining moment in the history of both the parish and the Catholic faithful in Angeles City.
