Retrieval teams recovered the fifth casualty from the rubble of the collapsed structure in Barangay Balibago on Wednesday morning, according to Angeles City Mayor Carmelo ‘Jon’ Lazatin II.
Mayor Lazatin said the victim was successfully extricated at around 7:57 a.m. and was later transported by the City Health Office at approximately 8:03 a.m. for Disaster Victim Identification (DVI) procedures.
A cellular phone recovered from the same area where the victim was found is believed to belong to the casualty. The device was turned over to the Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) for proper investigation and documentation.
Search and rescue, retrieval, and clearing operations remain ongoing under the Unified Command Management Option, with Mayor Lazatin serving as the Responsible Officer.
