Two officials of the Angeles City Office of the City Building Official (OCBO) have been placed under preventive suspension in connection with the ongoing investigation into the collapse of a building in Barangay Balibago. This was announced by Angeles City officials in a press conference held on Saturday morning.
According to Atty. Darwin Reyes, special legal adviser of the Angeles City LGU’s fact-finding task force, the 2025 Rules on Administrative Cases in the Civil Service (RACCS) allow the preventive suspension of government employees while a formal investigation is being conducted involving allegations of grave misconduct or gross neglect of duty.
The preventive suspension will take effect from June 1 and may last for up to 60 days, or until July 30, 2026.
Authorities said the investigation remains ongoing to determine possible accountability in connection with the building collapse.
