PNP launches Oplan Balik-Eskwela with 55K personnel nationwide

More than 55,000 security personnel have been deployed nationwide to ensure the safe and orderly opening of classes on June 8 under the Philippine National Police’s (PNP) Oplan Balik-Eskwela.

PNP chief Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez said the police force is fully prepared for the resumption of classes, with personnel strategically positioned across the country to maintain security in and around schools.

A total of 55,507 security personnel have been mobilized, including 28,751 police officers, 4,079 personnel from other units, and 22,677 force multipliers from partner agencies and community organizations.

The deployment includes high-visibility campus patrols, traffic management operations, and the establishment of Police Assistance Desks to provide immediate support to students, parents, and school personnel.

To strengthen emergency response capabilities, the PNP has deployed 9,525 mobile units and set up 9,319 assistance desks nationwide.

Nartatez assured the public that the heightened security measures for the opening of classes will not affect the PNP’s regular law enforcement and anti-criminality operations.

The PNP also assured parents that comprehensive security measures are in place to protect students from both physical and online threats as schools reopen across the country.
