The Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAX) is moving closer to full completion as MPCALA Holdings Inc. advances construction of the remaining sections of the 45-kilometer, four-lane toll road connecting Cavite and Laguna.
Construction is ongoing along the remaining 18.5 kilometers covering Subsections 1 and 2, with works focused on mainline road pavements, bridge superstructures, drainage systems, interchange ramps, and other supporting infrastructure.
CALAX currently operates continuously from Mamplasan in Biñan, Laguna, to Governor’s Drive in General Trias, Cavite.
Once Subsections 1 and 2 are completed, the expressway will extend through Open Canal to Kawit, Cavite, completing the CALAX corridor and linking it to the Manila-Cavite Expressway (CAVITEX) through the CAVITEX-CALAX Link (CCLink).
The completed expressway is expected to provide motorists with a more direct and convenient route between Cavite, Laguna, and Metro Manila, offering an alternative to congested local roads.
It will also improve access to residential communities, commercial establishments, industrial zones, and major economic centers across the region.
Beyond easing travel, the integrated expressway network is expected to strengthen logistics and business operations by providing more efficient routes for transporting raw materials, finished products, and other goods between industrial parks, warehouses, distribution hubs, and major markets.
Improved connectivity will also facilitate the movement of workers and supplies, supporting business expansion, trade, and economic activity in Cavite and Laguna.
CALAX is a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) project undertaken by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) as government grantor and MPCALA Holdings Inc., a subsidiary of Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation, as private concessionaire.
Once fully operational, the expressway is expected to enhance regional mobility, improve logistics efficiency, and strengthen economic connectivity across Southern Luzon.
