The Provincial Government of Pampanga joined the nation in commemorating the 128th Philippine Independence Day, honoring the courage, sacrifices, and patriotism of Filipino heroes whose struggle paved the way for the country’s freedom.
The celebration was led by Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda and Vice Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda, who paid tribute to the nation’s heroes and called on Kapampangans to uphold the values of freedom and service.
As part of the program, Governor Pineda and Vice Governor Pineda led the wreath-laying ceremony at the Philippine flag together with Executive Assistant IV Angelina Blanco, Provincial Administrator Atty. Charlie Chua, First District Board Members Cherry Manalo and Christian Halili, Fourth District Board Member Dr. Kaye Naguit, Pampanga Councilors League President and Board Member Maynard Lapid, Pampanga Police Provincial Office Officer-in-Charge PCOL Angel L. Garcillano, and representatives from the Bureau of Fire Protection.
In her message, Governor Pineda encouraged Kapampangans to continue valuing and protecting the freedom won by the nation’s forebears.
“Hinihikayat ko ang bawat isa na ipagmalaki ang ating pagiging Pilipino at pagiging Kapampangan. Ingatan natin ang kalayaang ipinaglaban ng ating mga ninuno sa pamamagitan ng matuwid na pamumuhay, makabayang pagkilos, at taos-pusong paglilingkod sa kapwa. Sama-sama nating itaguyod ang isang Pampanga at Pilipinas na matatag, mapayapa, at maunlad,” ani Governor Pineda.
Adding color and inspiration to the celebration were patriotic performances by PPDO Jerico Tapang and students and teachers from Porac National High School, who presented songs and cultural dances in tribute to the nation’s history and hard-earned freedom.
The commemoration highlighted the importance of unity, accountability, and active citizen participation in advancing the shared goal of a stronger and more prosperous future.
Through the observance, the Provincial Government of Pampanga reaffirmed its commitment to serving with compassion, dedication, and integrity while honoring the legacy of freedom that continues to inspire generations of Filipinos.
