The Province of Tarlac has welcomed its designation as the pilot province for the implementation of the e-Medical Assistance to Indigent and Financially Incapacitated Patients (e-MAIFIP) program under the eGov PH system.
The initiative aims to streamline and speed up the processing of medical assistance for indigent and financially challenged patients through a digital platform.

Covered by the rollout are the Tarlac Provincial Hospital, Concepcion District Hospital, Gilberto O. Teodoro Memorial Hospital, La Paz Medicare and Community Hospital, and the Congressman Enrique Henry M. Cojuangco Memorial District Hospital, ensuring wider and faster access to medical aid across the province.
Provincial officials welcomed the development alongside Director Allison Umandap of the Malasakit Program Office, during discussions on the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) and the next steps for implementation, including fund downloading and system integration.
The Department of Health (DOH), led by Secretary Teodoro Herbosa, together with the Malasakit Program Office, expressed appreciation to Tarlac for being the first province to pilot the e-MAIFIP system.
Officials said the initiative underscores continued efforts to bring more efficient and accessible medical assistance closer to Filipinos in need.
