Two minors taken into custody following deadly Tacloban school shooting

The Police Regional Office 8 (PRO-8) has taken into custody two junior high school students allegedly involved in the shooting incident at San Jose National High School on Monday, June 22, that left three learners dead and seven others injured.

According to the Tacloban City Police Office, law enforcement personnel immediately launched hot pursuit and intensified manhunt operations after the incident was reported, leading to the swift apprehension of the two minors.

Authorities said the suspects are currently under police custody and will be referred to the City Social Welfare and Development Office for proper intervention and processing.

Police emphasized that all procedures are being carried out in accordance with child-sensitive protocols and existing legal safeguards for minors.

The investigation into the incident remains ongoing as authorities work to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
