The provincial government of Pampanga has turned over motorized boats to Barangay Consuelo and Barangay San Esteban to strengthen emergency response in the area.
Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda led the turnover of the boats, which were funded through the Pampanga Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (PDRRMC).
Each boat can accommodate around 30 passengers and will be used for mass evacuation, delivery of relief goods, and response to medical emergencies, particularly during flooding and other disasters.
Local officials said the new boats are expected to significantly boost the barangays’ capacity to assist residents in times of calamities and ensure faster, safer response operations.
