SM earns UN recognition for advancing global causes

SM Prime Holdings and SM Cares have been recognized in the United Nations Philippines 2025 Annual Results Report for helping bring global advocacy campaigns closer to Filipino communities through its nationwide network of malls.

The report cited SM’s support for initiatives such as the UN@80 Campaign and National Women’s Month, highlighting how its malls, digital platforms, and cinemas served as venues for promoting awareness on peace, human rights, gender equality, and sustainable development.

According to the UN report, the collaboration demonstrated the value of public-private partnerships under Sustainable Development Goal 17 by expanding the reach of humanitarian and development campaigns to millions of Filipinos.

SM Supermalls President Steven Tan welcomed the recognition, saying the company’s malls serve as community spaces where meaningful conversations and public engagement can flourish, reinforcing SM’s commitment to sustainability and nation-building.
