A total of 3,669 residents from five coastal barangays in Sasmuan, Pampanga received food packs on July 7 under the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s Food-for-Work Program.
Before receiving the assistance, beneficiaries participated in community clean-up drives to help keep coastal areas free of waste and reduce the risk of disease.
The beneficiaries included 1,152 residents from Malusac, 851 from Sebitanan, 174 from Batang 1st, 970 from Batang 2nd, and 522 from Mabuabuan.
The distribution was led by Pampanga Board Members Fritzie David-Dizon, Atty. Claire Lim, and Sajid Eusoof, together with Sasmuan Mayor Catalina Cabrera and Lubao Mayor Esmeralda Pineda, on behalf of Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda and Vice Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda.
The initiative combined environmental stewardship with food assistance, encouraging community participation while providing support to families in coastal villages.
