Philippine Airlines is expanding its international network by increasing flights to Japan and adding seasonal services to Australia to meet expected demand during the Christmas and New Year travel season.
Starting in late October, PAL will raise the frequency of its Manila–Tokyo (Narita) and Manila–Osaka (Kansai) routes from 14 to 21 weekly flights from October 25, 2026 to March 27, 2027. Manila–Sapporo (Chitose) services will also increase from three to five weekly flights between November 24, 2026 and February 27, 2027.
The expanded schedule will bring PAL’s Japan operations to as many as 87 weekly flights, reinforcing its position as the Philippine carrier with the widest network to Japan.
PAL will also add flights to Melbourne and Perth during the year-end holidays, while selected Sydney and Brisbane services will be operated using larger aircraft to provide more seats for travelers.
PAL President Richard Nuttall said the additional services will provide passengers with greater flexibility during the busy winter travel season while supporting tourism, trade, and cultural exchanges between the Philippines, Japan, and Australia. The airline also encouraged travelers to book early to secure preferred travel dates during the holiday peak.
