New facility to benefit over 30,000 farmers
President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. personally inspected the newly opened Pampanga Food Security Complex (PFSC) in Barangay Sta. Catalina, Lubao, Pampanga, on Friday, July 24.
The modern facility is expected to directly benefit more than 30,000 farmers in the province by providing better market access and improving rice supply.
Through the PFSC, farmers are expected to gain:
✅ More assured markets for their produce
✅ Reduced post-harvest losses
✅ Higher income for farmers
✅ More sufficient rice supply for Pampanga
Pampanga Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda said the provincial government will directly purchase palay from small farmers and cooperatives for processing at the facility, helping strengthen their livelihoods.
Marcos was joined during the inspection by Agriculture Secretary Francisco Tiu Laurel Jr., Governor Pineda, Vice Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda, 2nd District Representative and former President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, Lubao Mayor Esmeralda G. Pineda, and other Department of Agriculture and PhilMech officials.
During the same event, Marcos also led the distribution of ₱17.7 million in Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) assistance from the DSWD to 21 associations and aid to beneficiaries under the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations (AICS), together with DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian.
