Sandbagging efforts continue at PELCO III Sto. Tomas substation

The Pampanga III Electric Cooperative (PELCO III) continues its flood protection efforts at the Sto. Tomas Substation amid persistent flooding and limited road accessibility.

As of September 1, 2026, sandbags have been delivered to the Barangay Hall of Sto. Rosario, Sto. Tomas. Since the road leading to the substation remains inaccessible, PELCO III linemen will transport the sandbags by boat from the barangay hall to the substation to facilitate the needed flood protection measures.

PELCO III expressed its appreciation to Pampanga Governor Lilia Pineda and Vice Governor Dennis Pineda for providing three truckloads of sandbags for the operation.

The electric cooperative also thanked Sto. Tomas Mayor Johnny A. Sambo and the municipal government, PELCO III Board of Director Eduardo A. Raquiz, and Barangay Captain Karen Zablan Pineda of Sto. Rosario Pau for their continued support, including the provision of boats for transporting the sandbags.

Despite the ongoing flooding and accessibility challenges, PELCO III and its partner agencies continue to coordinate and implement necessary measures to protect the Sto. Tomas Substation.
