Maynard Lapid named DPWH Assistant Secretary

Maynard Lapid, a municipal councilor of Porac, Pampanga, and son of Senator Lito Lapid, has been appointed Assistant Secretary of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

DPWH Secretary Giovanni Lopez designated Lapid as Assistant Secretary for Special Concerns and the Bureau of Equipment through an order issued on October 30, according to a report by The Philippine Star on November 2.

Lapid will assist DPWH Undersecretary Charles Calima, who oversees the Office of Special Concerns and the Bureau of Equipment.

His appointment is part of the administrative realignment initiated by Lopez following his assumption as DPWH chief, succeeding Vince Dizon in the recent Cabinet reshuffle.

Other appointments included Joel Limpengco as Officer-in-Charge Undersecretary for Regional Operations in Luzon, Sherwin Galleros as DPWH-NCR director, and Alwin Pido as DPWH-NCR assistant director.
