DPWH, Pampanga team up vs. flooding

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and the Pampanga provincial government, led by Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda, are coordinating measures to mitigate flooding in areas affected by recent inundation in the province.

Among the proposed measures are dredging of major waterways and the installation of diverted flow systems to improve water movement and prevent damage to key infrastructure and nearby communities.

The plan will also cover portions of the Gugu Dike to strengthen protection along both stretches of the Sto. Tomas and Minalin Tail Dike.

The joint efforts aim to enhance flood protection for communities in Bacolor, Sto. Tomas, Sta. Catalina, Sta. Rita, Minalin and San Simon and help prevent another widespread flooding incident in these areas.
