Tarlac City Mayor Susan Yap inspected the Bailey Bridge on Tuesday, which will serve as a temporary access route to the western side of the city.

Yap said the bridge will not yet be opened to the public as it still needs to undergo thorough checking, testing and inspection to ensure that it is safe and suitable for use.

She acknowledged the anticipation of residents who are looking forward to faster access to the western side of the city, but urged the public to remain patient while the necessary safety procedures are completed.

Yap said the temporary crossing is nearing readiness, but emphasized that public safety remains the priority before it is opened for use.
