Batangas Governor Vilma Santos-Recto and Pampanga Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda visited the DOH-Jose B. Lingad Children’s Medical Center in the Clark Freeport Zone on Friday, September 25, as part of Batangas’ benchmarking activity in Pampanga.
During the visit, JBLMGH Medical Chief Dr. Monserrat Chichioco and other doctors and medical personnel presented the facility’s specialized services, equipment and treatment areas dedicated to pediatric care.
The DOH-JBL Children’s Medical Center is a specialized pediatric healthcare facility developed by the Department of Health (DOH) and Jose B. Lingad Memorial General Hospital (JBLMGH) to provide more comprehensive and specialized medical services for children closer to their families.
President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. inaugurated the facility on July 24, 2026, as part of the expansion of regional specialty healthcare under the Clark Multi-Specialty Medical Center Complex.
The facility is intended to reduce the need for children requiring specialized treatment to travel to Metro Manila while expanding access to pediatric healthcare for families in Central Luzon, Northern Luzon and nearby areas.
The project also supports the implementation of the Regional Specialty Centers Act, which promotes the establishment and strengthening of specialty centers across the country to bring specialized healthcare services closer to Filipinos.
Among its facilities are specialized outpatient consultation areas, integrated operating rooms and advanced diagnostic equipment, including an AI-enabled X-ray system and a 128-slice CT scanner.
