While battling breast cancer, Virginia Calma is also caring for her sibling, Alvie, who has Stage 4 rectal cancer.

Virginia was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2016. In the midst of her own treatment, she learned that her sibling was also fighting cancer. Since then, the two have faced the costs of medication and medical checkups together while providing each other care and support.

To help cancer patients like Virginia and Alvie, the Pineda family provides ₱10,000 in monthly financial assistance, in addition to support from the Pampanga provincial government and other government agencies.

Last week, around 160 cancer patients from the Second District of Pampanga received the assistance. Another 54 cancer patients from the First, Third, and Fourth Districts are also receiving support from the family.

Amid the financial and emotional challenges of cancer treatment, the assistance provides added relief for medical expenses and helps patients continue their treatment.

More than financial support, the initiative carries a message of hope and solidarity: Pampanga cancer patients do not have to face their fight alone. 💜
