The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Region 3 (BFAR 3), in partnership with the BFAR–National Freshwater Technology Center (BFAR-NFTC) and the local government, marked the successful completion of the Fish Farmers’ Field School (FFS) on Polyculture of Ulang and Tilapia in Barangay Nagmisaan, Paniqui, Tarlac on September 23, 2026.
BFAR 3 Regional Director Wilfredo M. Cruz, RFTFCD Chief Romina Yutuc, Tarlac Provincial Fishery Officer Lanie Lamyon, and local government representatives attended the graduation ceremony.
Cruz urged the graduates to apply and further develop the skills they gained to improve their fish farming production and livelihoods.
“Ang pagtatapos sa FFS ay hindi pagtatapos ng pagkatuto, kundi simula ng pagsasabuhay ng mga kaalamang inyong natutunan,” Cruz said.
The graduates received certificates of completion, along with fishing gear and fingerlings to support the application of their newly acquired knowledge and skills.
Through the FFS, BFAR 3, BFAR-NFTC, and local governments continue to strengthen the capacity of fish farmers in raising ulang and tilapia while creating opportunities for improved production and community livelihoods.
