The Center for Kapampangan Studies (CKS) has launched an interactive digital kiosk showcasing the scientific history, stories and cultural significance of Mt. Pinatubo.

Developed by Information Technology students specializing in web development from the School of Computing, the kiosk features firsthand accounts, 3D views, photo and video galleries, and the interactive lahar virtual game “Laharaya.”

The launch also featured Kapampangan Poet Laureate Bertung Isponga, whose real name is Alvin Ignacio, and a storytelling session by broadcaster, teacher and environmental advocate Cecile Yumul, who shared her firsthand experiences of the 1991 Mt. Pinatubo eruption and subsequent lahar events.

Yumul also donated her extensive collection of Mt. Pinatubo photographs to CKS.

Students, guests and visitors attended the launch, highlighting the use of technology in preserving and sharing the Kapampangan story of Mt. Pinatubo.
