Mayor Carmelo “Jon” B. Lazatin II has strengthened the city government’s social welfare programs to ensure continued assistance for Angeleños facing difficult circumstances.

Through the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO), the Angeles City government continues to provide financial and educational assistance to families in need, solo parents, children and other vulnerable sectors.

In its latest assistance distribution, 505 solo parents received subsidies, while 11 college students who are children of solo parents were granted educational assistance.

Another 25 young beneficiaries also received educational assistance under the city’s youth assistance program.

The city likewise extended financial assistance to 18 residents affected by disasters, helping them address immediate needs as they begin recovering from the impact of calamities.

Four beneficiaries from Children in Need of Special Protection (CNSP) and Women in Especially Difficult Circumstances (WEDC) also received assistance based on their individual needs.

The administration of Mayor Jon has emphasized that social welfare goes beyond the provision of financial aid. The city also seeks to understand the circumstances of each beneficiary, identify their needs and connect them with appropriate government services to support their recovery and well-being.

The continued rollout of the programs reflects the city government’s commitment to prioritizing sectors that require greater protection and support, including solo parents, children, youth, disaster-affected families and other vulnerable individuals.

The city government also underscored the importance of ensuring that local government funds are properly utilized for programs that directly respond to the needs of the community.
