The gray Toyota Avanza that fell into the Tarlac River after a portion of the Agana Bridge collapsed on August 29 was recovered on September 2 in Sitio Paninaan, Barangay Carangian, Tarlac City.

The SUV, which had five passengers aboard when it plunged from the collapsed bridge, was found empty after being swept several hundred meters downstream.

The two remaining missing passengers, Paul Harvey Collado and Sheila Mae Taborlupa, were not found inside the recovered vehicle.

Earlier, the bodies of James Patrick Taborlupa and Shanen Tuhao were recovered in Bayambang and Lingayen, Pangasinan, respectively.

The vehicle fell into the river after strong currents caused by heavy Habagat rains contributed to the collapse of a portion of the Agana Bridge.

Personnel from the Tarlac Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council, Tarlac City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, Tarlac City Police, and Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office took part in the vehicle recovery operation.
