Angeles City celebrates Culture through School of Living Traditions

Culture came alive in Angeles City as the School of Living Traditions (SLT) held its grand launch, bringing together cultural practitioners, learners, and the community in a celebration of Kapampangan heritage.

Led by the Angeles City Tourism Office, the initiative highlights the city’s continuing efforts to preserve and pass on its rich cultural traditions, with the support of Mayor Carmelo “Jon” B. Lazatin II.

The celebration featured cultural performances, recognition of cultural masters, and the graduation of learners who dedicated themselves to learning traditional knowledge and skills.

Through the School of Living Traditions, young people and community members gain opportunities to learn directly from cultural bearers and help ensure that valuable practices, stories, skills, and traditions are carried on to future generations.

More than a cultural program, the initiative strengthens Angeles City’s identity as a cultural and tourism destination, where heritage is not simply preserved but experienced and lived.

After all, the true Angeles experience goes beyond the places visitors see. It is found in the culture they encounter, the stories they discover, and the traditions that communities continue to keep alive.

Experience. Live. Love. Angeles City.
