Angeles City gov’t to distribute 10 kilos of rice to 4,330 employees

All 4,330 Angeles City government employees – elected, co-terminus, casual, and Contract of Service – are set to receive 10 kilos of rice on December 1, 2022 from the Angeles City government, led by Mayor Carmelo ‘Pogi’ Lazatin Jr.

Among the beneficiaries of the rice subsidy are the 13 elected officials in the city; 1,217 permanent, casual, and contractual personnel; and 3,100 COS employees.

Flordeliza Santos, president of the Association of Government Employees for a New Dynamic Angeles City (AGENDA), expressed gratitude to Mayor Lazatin for his kindness not just to the city hall employees, but also to their families.

“Hindi po namin inaasahan na bukod sa mga benepisyo na inanunsyo kahapon ay may rice subsidy pa. He is truly working hard to show his appreciation to the employees by providing us with these kinds of benefits despite the effects of the pandemic,” Santos said.

According to her, this is unexpected news apart from the P17,000 additional benefits for the 1,230 permanent, casual, and contractual workers and P3,000 year-end gratuity for 3,100 COS personnel.

“Mula noong unang pag-upo po nya bilang mayor hanggang ngayon po ay hindi nagbago ang kanyang malasakit sa ating mga employees. Muli po, maraming salamat po Mayor Pogi! Mabuhay po kayo,” Santos furthered.

Aside from the 10 kilos of rice, all employees will get a chance to win prizes in this year’s City Hall Online Christmas Party.

All employees will have a chance to win cash prizes, appliances, and grocery packages.
