Angeles City trains women in cassava food processing in Sapang Bato

The Angeles City Government, led by Mayor Carmelo “Jon” Lazatin II, continues to strengthen livelihood opportunities for residents, particularly women, through skills development programs.

The City Agriculture Office recently conducted a livelihood skills training on cassava food processing in Barangay Sapang Bato, in partnership with the Department of Agriculture – Regional Field Office III.

The training equipped participants with practical knowledge on producing various cassava-based products such as corn-cassava turon, cassava cake, cassava polvoron, corn-cassava okoy, and cassava puffs or egg balls—items that can be turned into income-generating ventures.

Officials said the program holds strong potential in Sapang Bato, where cassava farming is common. By introducing value-adding techniques and food processing skills, the initiative aims to boost the income of local farmers and households.

The Angeles City government continues to roll out programs that create economic opportunities and promote a more resilient and progressive community for Angeleños.
