Angeles LGU boosts Gulayan sa Barangay program with new agri equipment

The Angeles City Government has strengthened its Gulayan sa Barangay Program through the provision of modern agricultural equipment to support sustainable farming and food security efforts.

Under the leadership of Mayor Carmelo “Jon” Lazatin II, the Angeles City Agriculture Office distributed two biomass shredder machines and four vermicompost tea brewers to Barangay Pandan and Barangay Malabanias.

The initiative was implemented in partnership with the Department of Agriculture – Bureau of Soils and Water Management, aiming to promote organic farming practices and improve community-based food production.

According to the LGU, the equipment will help accelerate the processing of biodegradable waste into organic fertilizer, supporting the expansion of community gardens while also reducing waste and promoting environmental protection.

The city government encouraged residents and barangays to actively participate in similar programs to sustain clean, green, and nutritious communities.

Officials said the initiative is part of ongoing efforts to advance sustainable agriculture and strengthen local food security in Angeles City.
