A Holy Mass and commemorative program were held to mark the 116th birth anniversary of former President Diosdado Macapagal, honoring his life, public service, and legacy to the nation.

Mayor Esmie Pineda joined the commemoration with Mrs. Cielo Dela Rosa Macapagal-Salgado, Rep. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, officials and personnel from the Department of Education (DepEd), the National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP), and other guests.

The gathering served as an opportunity to remember Macapagal’s contributions to the country and encourage the continued preservation of his legacy of public service and patriotism.

Pineda underscored the importance of remembering the life, service, and enduring legacy of “Apung Dadong” for succeeding generations.
